Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Just popping some broccoli and cheese quiche into the oven as a surprise brunch, for when my children finally roll themselves out of bed. I've been awake for going on six hours now, washed, dried and folded several loads of laundry, checked and edited some of my social media sites, and spent some quality time on the phone and in the pages of Pinterest with my best friend who lives way too many miles away.
Before too long, it will be time for the kids to head back to school. Back into the hurried morning routine, and the fast paced schedule so contradictory to these long, relaxing days of summer. It's so hard to believe that they will be seniors this year, and on the last leg of their journey from high school, and into the decisions of adulthood, jobs, colleges and futures. Seems like only yesterday I was holding them in my arms, teaching them their ABC's and crying as I delivered them to school on their first day of kindergarten. Life sure has a way of passing swiftly by...
This has been a creative summer for me. I have finally found how to make time for art. Squeezing in a moment here and there, between laundry and dishes and grocery shopping. The secret, I will share is that you Must Make yourself take the time, even if it is only a few minutes a day. Time to stop, time to breath, time to connect, time to create... Because the moments travel swiftly by, and the moments spent creating, are the moments we are truly alive, and true to our inner conscience. They are the moments that define us, the moments that set us free! To dream of a design, to mold the materials in your hands, to create something new, something unique, a part of your imagination transformed...
Enjoy the last few weeks of summer's leisure interlude, treasure every available moment shared with your children, savor every instant that you get to create, because life... is but a twinkle of a star *
